About the Event
Even during a pandemic, I shan't stop the passion of autism awareness and public speaking. On that note, I am deeply appreciative to Professor Ashley O'Rourke-Power for inviting me to speak her class at Mercy College on the evening of Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Mercy College is located in Dobbs Ferry, NY and provides an education for people who have limited incomes. They have been quite generous with hosting me in the past, and I always spoke to the classes of Professor Eileen Sullivan Hoffman until her retirement. Along for the ride were my proteges of David Lieberman, Amy Maiorano, and Andrew Maggio who did a wonderful job educating the students about various abilities, too. It was a pleasure to share the platform with these individuals from the the College Experience. I am so pleased that Eileen passed the torch to Ashley and will do my best to empower these students who will go off into the front lines to educate students with special needs including my young peers who are also on the autism spectrum! In the future, I am surely looking forward to making the drive there just like old times!
