About the Event

This event with a Cerebral Palsy association is going to be awesome in more ways than one mainly thanks to the audience.  (Alright...maybe my presence may help just a tiny bit!)  I have the privilege of working with Penny Lynn Pagliaro and Cynthia Ferris who were instrumental in making this event comet to fruition.  At first, the event seemed challenging and even a little intimidating considering that I live with autism and not cerebral palsy.  On the other hand, we are all connected by humanity and have dealt with similar obstacles.  Misconceptions from the public, irrational fear, being treated like children when we are full-grown adults, and lack of employment opportunities.  I shall be reading excerpts from my books of "Atypical" and "Getting a Life with Asperger's" while providing commentary garnered through the School of Hard Knocks.  For example, I shall be speaking about the three Catfishing Scams that have duped me as well as all of the Red Flags that have become permanent fixtures the next time a random and pretty face enters my universe quite unexpectedly!  I will also be giving strategies for parents and caregivers such as Incremental Backing Off, the Jerk Quota, choosing the Right Wrong, and Knowing When to Stop!  As a bonus to the speech, I am bringing an alumnus of the College Experience who has cerebral palsy to give him motivation with his own acting/speaking career.  For those who live with cerebral palsy, there is a huge difference between having a disability and being disabled.  There are plenty of people born with all the right tools who use them in the wrong ways while squandering their potential.  Come one and all at six p.m. this Monday, January 30th, 2023 for an evening of Cerebral Palsy Power and Autism Awesomeness at 6:00 PM located on 15 Mount Ebo Road South; Brewster, NY  10509!!
